Hardware Options – Per Server Specifications
Storage clusters require 3 or more servers. Specs may vary slightly.
All servers have separate boot drives. For custom configurations please schedule a meeting.
Network based block storage, object storage, and file systems that are large scale and based on hard drives (spinning media) greatly benefit from a high performance caching layer and high CPU ratio. Storage XL V2 are highlighted specifically due to:
- Features 4 X 4TB SSD NVMe drives and 12 X 18TB hard drives. The NVMe drives cache reads and writes above the spinning media. This dramatically improves I/O.
- Features large CPUs and 256GB of RAM. Ceph leverages the powerful CPUs for erasure coding that maximizes disk space while providing redundancy.

Your budget is found under the Settings in each individual Cloud. It can also be set when first provisioning the Cloud.

Certain usage may place you in a different billing bracket. This is typically determined by the power utilization of your servers. You will be notified and have up to 60 days to address the utilization before moving into the new billing bracket. For activities like crypto-mining, there is no grace period. Please notify your Account Manager if you believe your workload is likely to have high continuous power consumption. They will provide you with options and pricing for these special cases.

We reserve the right to implement limitations and restrictions at any time if you are not on a guaranteed bandwidth plan.
For guaranteed bandwidth plans, please contact Sales. The typical plan is:
- For Egress, you are billed on the 95th Percentile at $0.37 per Mbit per week. Your 95th Percentile is calculated against the number of days up to 7 days. The minimum usage commitment is 100Mbits at $37.00/wk. Higher commits yield lower per mbit costs.
Currently, Ingress is not charged.
There is no current way to limit your bandwidth usage from our side but we encourage you to use the tools within OpenStack and Linux that can limit bandwidth usage.
