Todd: I’d like to introduce myself. I’m Todd Robinson. I’m an original founder of several tech companies over many years. But before that I was someone who got a chance to get into the internet field because of open source and so today I’m here as a representative for open source, bringing out OpenMetal and OpenMetal is a open source philosophy company that is bringing forward the ability to launch and run highly complex systems. And so a deep deep experience in engineering and in working in startups. And today, I’m just very, very pleased to be part of OpenMetal and bringing OpenMetal to market.
Jadon: Hello, my name is Jadon Naas. I’m part of the OpenMetal team. I got my start in technology – I’m a hobbyist turned professional, largely self taught and I have to give a lot of my credit for my success to open source software and the pretty much free entry for learning technology and building a technology career building on skill set. And for me, I want to be part of the OpenMetal team because I feel like Cloud is the last great frontier. It has the last part that has barriers for access to technology, and it’s really hard to become a cloud practitioner if you don’t have deep pockets for buying infrastructure. So I really, really am hopeful about we can really break down and make learning the cloud as easy and accessible as it is to learn Python or JavaScript or one of these other popular core technologies.
Todd: OpenMetal, its primary purpose is to automate highly complex open source systems in order to make those systems more accessible to smaller and larger teams, much more so than any of these highly complex systems have become out there. They’re often shares very difficult to access. And our mission is to make them more easy to access to allow a wider distribution of those complex open source systems.
Jadon: OpenMetal to me, it’s an effort to give smaller teams the same secret sauce that Google Amazon and other big players used to power their infrastructure – that we’ve done the work to give you the tools and capabilities of a fortune 100 company, but at a price anyone can afford because we believe it’s really important for the internet. To level the playing field in that way.
