About the Hosting and Public Cloud Provider Program
Our mission is to lower your per-unit costs of VMs, GB storage, IOPs, bandwidth, etc. We’ve accounted for everything included in your hard and soft cost purchases.
- Select, design, test, and negotiate for servers, routers, core switches, ToRs.
- Keep available spare hardware and service controls to mitigate failures and deal with issues like SSDs reaching wear limits.
- Select and negotiate colocation, data center buildout, bandwidth, peering, and cross-connects, times 2 for redundancy plus out-of-band connections.
- Increase usage of your data center space and power until you reach your minimums.
- Setup, test, and bring firmware up to date.
Based on our current data from OpenStack-based public cloud providers, we can lower costs for all small and medium size providers with the scale we have. Select from Ashburn/Washington DC, Los Angeles, and Amsterdam, NL. We have also recorded ping and traceroutes from major cities to help you decide.
The Case for OpenMetal’s OpenStack
OpenStack has traditionally been both the most powerful cloud system in the world AND the most complicated to get running correctly cloud system in the world.
Our mission was to change this and share it with the world.
We have now automated the deployment of a Day 2 ready, fully highly available, hyper-converged OpenStack and Ceph “as a Service”. In addition, this system has now matured to a V3 release in April 2024 with market leading features.
What Our Clients Say
Real success stories and testimonials straight from the businesses that have thrived with OpenMetal’s cloud solutions.
“With OpenMetal, we found a true partner, we have more control over the performance of our clouds, and we are able to significantly reduce our cloud costs. These three things make this relationship something I would say yes to a hundred times over.”
Tom Fanelli, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder @ Convesio
“I would definitely recommend OpenMetal. The key points would be an excellent support staff with deep knowledge and troubleshooting steps that are relevant to the issue and don’t begin with the basics.”
Arys Andreou, Head of Infrastructure @ MyMiniFactory
“OpenMetal’s team has worked closer with us than any other infrastructure provider we have ever had. Their technology is great, but their superpower is a culture of aligning their team with our goals.”
Chris Ueland, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder @ Hunt Intelligence

OpenStack public cloud providers have been experiencing high pressure from the continuously growing mega clouds. OpenMetal believes in applying the open source way to a service that can bridge the gap and compete in scale with mega clouds.
We use OpenStack in various ways, including but not limited to:
- Provisioning, cleaning, and updating hardware
- Providing networking and firewall functionality to access services
- Internal projects
We use OpenStack and Ceph as the Cloud Core of our Infrastructure as a Service offering. With the current investment in implementation and knowledge of OpenStack and our current scale from hosting, VPS, and dedicated server customers, we have realized we can also be a part of how open source can compete with mega clouds.
