New OpenMetal Integrations with Datadog and SecurityTrails – July 14, 2022

Datadog Integration

DataDogDatadog is a monitoring and security platform for cloud applications that integrates and automates infrastructure monitoring, application performance monitoring and log management to provide unified, real-time observability of our customers’ entire technology stack.

OpenMetal has now released an integration process for agents to manually install and deploy Datadog onto OpenMetal user clouds. After Datadog is installed:

  1. Users will get a single sign-on link into the Datadog User Interface (UI).
  2. Users can then view a custom dashboard created by OpenMetal.
  3. Users can then set up alerts and view critical metrics.

Updated Cloud Deletion For Greater Safety

The process for deleting a cloud has been modified to provide customers an extra layer of protection in deleting their cloud.

When attempting to delete a cloud you will be prompted to enter a code sent to their account’s email address. This does not apply to trials or any cloud with an age under 1 hour.

SecurityTrails Integration [coming soon]

OpenMetal Security Trails

The first iteration of a SecurityTrails integration is close to completion. This service will allow users to have visibility into exposed ports or vulnerabilities on their cloud.

The current implementation of this will display any open ports on a user’s cloud.

New Documentation Site

OpenMetal is in the process of building out a new documentation site. The new site will take over the https://openmetal.io/docs/manuals/ site and allow contributors to more easily submit documentation. Additionally we will remove the existing documentation from the OpenMetal Central (OMC) dashboard.
