Spot Instances and Spot Virtual Machines allow you to buy unused public cloud compute capacity at scale.

OpenMetal Spot Hardware is highly discounted as compared to their On-Demand prices.

The compute capacity is available at highly discounted prices.

You can purchase and use OpenMetal Spot Hardware / Private Cloud Cores independently without purchasing anything else from OpenMetal.

Spot Instances and Spot Virtual Machines usually cannot be purchased independently.

You can attach OpenMetal Spot Hardware to other OpenMetal Cloud Cores to expand resource availability.

You can combine these instances and VM’s with other types of plans and instances.

OpenMetal Spot Hardware does have limited availability but offers you the benefits of a full private cloud, deployed in seconds just like a public cloud.

Public cloud spot instances offer you the benefits of their massive operating scale.

Prices are set at purchase and do not fluctuate during usage.

Prices can fluctuate for the spot instances during usage, though usually you can set a maximum price in advance.

OpenMetal Spot Hardware can be reserved for 30 days at a time. Hardware can be reclaimed anytime after the 30 days with a 2 week notice.

Your workloads could be terminated and you could be evicted from your Spot Instances at short notice.

Best for all types of planned workloads as there are no immediate interruptions. as Since the Spot Hardware is initially available for 30 days, there is ample time to build, test, and deploy workloads.

Best for workloads that do not need to be completed within a specific time period and that can handle immediate interruptions.
Hardware bought under Spot Pricing can be easily transitioned over to a term based agreement.Since most spot instances on public clouds are transitional, they may be able to be transitioned into a production environment.

* These statements are based on commonalities between the Big 3 mega cloud hyper-scalers: AWS, Azure and GCP. There may be specific differences in their individual services that have not been accounted for.
