Q: What is included in OpenMetal’s monthly rate for a Hosted Private Cloud deployment?
OpenMetal’s monthly rate for Hosted Private Cloud covers dedicated bare metal infrastructure, full OpenStack and Ceph software stack, private networking between nodes, and base egress, all in a single flat fee with no per-VM or per-API charges.
Every Hosted Private Cloud deployment runs on hardware reserved exclusively for the customer. The monthly rate includes compute, storage, and networking resources provisioned across a minimum of three bare metal nodes, giving the deployment built-in redundancy from day one. There are no shared hypervisors and no noisy-neighbor contention, because the underlying servers belong entirely to the customer’s environment.
The included software layer covers the full OpenStack control plane (Horizon dashboard, Nova compute, Neutron networking, Cinder block storage) and Ceph-backed distributed storage with configurable replication. OpenMetal handles the initial deployment and infrastructure uptime, while the customer retains root-level access to the cloud layer. This is the hosted, not managed model: OpenMetal runs the rack, the customer runs the cloud.
Private network traffic between nodes inside the deployment is included at no additional cost. Only traffic leaving the environment to the public internet counts toward egress billing, and OpenMetal’s egress rates are designed to be dramatically lower than public cloud equivalents. Additional IPv4 allocations beyond the default are available at a separate charge if the customer is not bringing their own IP space.
