Q: What is included in OpenMetal’s Hosted Private Cloud Day 2 operations?
OpenMetal handles infrastructure monitoring, patching, incident response, and upgrade coordination for Hosted Private Cloud clusters, while the customer retains full control of the OpenStack cloud layer.
Every Hosted Private Cloud deployment includes Base support, which covers hardware health monitoring, server provisioning, and cloud software delivery (OpenStack and Ceph). OpenMetal monitors all cluster nodes for hardware failures, Ceph storage health, and OpenStack service availability. Security patches and OpenStack version upgrades are coordinated by OpenMetal with minimal disruption to running workloads.
The optional Assisted Management tier adds a named Account Engineer, joint cloud health monitoring, 24/7 incident response, monthly proactive health checks, and assisted upgrades. Onboarding includes a dedicated Account Manager, Account Engineer, and Executive Sponsor, with a private Slack channel for engineer-to-engineer support and optional weekly Google Meet check-ins. The customer controls the cloud: OpenStack API access, Horizon dashboard, instance lifecycle, network topology, storage policies, and custom instance flavors are all under customer control. OpenMetal does not restrict what you run inside the cloud.
