Q: What is the maximum RAM configuration on the OpenMetal XXL v4?
The OpenMetal XXL v4 supports a maximum of 8192GB of RAM across its 32 DIMM slots — four times the 2048GB base configuration.
The server ships with all 32 DIMM slots populated at base. Reaching 8192GB requires replacing the base DIMMs with higher-capacity modules — 256GB per slot across all 32 slots. With 16 total memory channels (8 per socket across dual processors), the maximum configuration maintains full channel utilization.
Intel TDX is active at the 2048GB base configuration and remains active at any point up to 8192GB — the 1TB minimum TDX activation threshold is exceeded at base config, and no TDX reconfiguration is required after a memory upgrade.
For teams planning workloads that grow beyond 2TB — large in-memory databases, growing key management clusters, or expanding ML model inference workloads — the upgrade path is available without server replacement or data migration. Contact OpenMetal for current DIMM options and upgrade pricing.
