Q: What are the specs of the OpenMetal Medium v5 bare metal server?
Dual Intel Xeon 6505P processors (Granite Rapids, Intel 3) power the OpenMetal Medium v5, delivering 24 physical cores and 48 threads at 2.2 GHz base / 4.1 GHz max turbo, with 96 MB total L3 cache and 256 GB DDR5-6400 ECC RDIMM across 8 of 16 DIMM slots.
Storage is split across two isolated tiers: two 960 GB NVMe boot drives in RAID 1 provide redundant OS storage, while one 6.4 TB Micron 7500 MAX NVMe occupies the first of up to four data bays (25.6 TB max). Networking is two 10 Gbps NICs in LACP bond, providing 20 Gbps aggregate private bandwidth; public bandwidth is 6 Gbps included, with burst to 40 Gbps.
Intel SGX is enabled by default with 128 GB EPC. Intel TDX is not active at the base 256 GB configuration; it requires upgrading all 16 DIMM slots to 64 GB modules (1 TB total) and enabling TDX in BIOS. The server also provides PCIe 5.0 at 88 lanes per processor and three UPI links at 24 GT/s between sockets. AES-NI, Intel Boot Guard, and CET are active in all configurations.
The Medium v5 deploys as a standalone bare metal server with full root access and IPMI, or as part of a three-node Hosted Private Cloud cluster running OpenStack and Ceph. Pricing is fixed monthly with optional locks up to 5 years.
