Peter Lee
Cloud Consultant
Technology and basketball have always served as a mutual inspiration for Peter. Therefore, it is fitting to reflect on a quote from Michael Jordan, who once said “I’ve always believed that if you put in the work, the results will come.” Peter is the embodiment of this idea.
Peter initially wanted to be Donatello (the Ninja Turtle…not the painter), But, as Peter became focused on becoming the next Michael Jordan that a pivotal moment happened. He learned about MJ’s NBA Salary. But it was not the salary that excited Peter, it was that an NBA franchise owner would have enough money to pay that “one” player that salary. His dream got bigger.
Driven by the idea that scalable impact technology can save the world, he quickly moved in the direction of business and technology. He attended York University in Toronto where he completed his MBA in Accounting and Business Management.
In one of Peter’s first career roles as an Account Manager at Telus, a communications technology company, this is where it all began to click. It was here that he learned the value of people when it comes to business…that it’s the relationships you build that allow you to grow, succeed, and ultimately be happy.
With that guiding principle, Peter went on to various business roles as a Business Development and Account Executive at TeamTech, a Sales Account Executive for IaaS Services and VDI at Tecorp Cloud, and even started a small business along the way.
Today, Peter brings his experience and relationship skills to OpenMetal as a Cloud Consultant to help customers learn more about innovative cloud and open source technologies. While he feels that he may not be changing the universe, he is perfectly happy to make a small dent in it if he can help a new business partner elevate their business success.
And the NBA dream? Have no fear. After Peter retires from OpenMetal, he fully intends to use his success to reinvent himself as an NBA franchise owner.
