Madeleine Ethridge

Senior DevOps Engineer

Madeleine is a problem solver. Even from her earliest days, she wanted to unlock the mysteries of ancient Egypt as an Egyptologist. This may have been inspired more through an infatuation with Yu-Gi-Oh! and its story ties to the Egyptian Book of the Dead…but the fact still remains. She likes to tackle challenges.

In high school, Madeleine used this motivation to dive into computer technology and the web. Having overcome the struggle of her first computer still using a dot matrix printer in the 90s, she went on to start building websites, and even built her high school’s first website.

Madeleine decided to pursue this passion as her purpose. She attended the University of Idaho for Computer Science for a year before moving to Virginia and finishing her Bachelor’s degree in Web Development at ECPI University in Virginia Beach.

While at ECPI, Madeleine took on a role at InMotion Hosting in Tier 1 Tech Support before becoming a full-time System Administrator working on shared hosting platforms, VPS servers, and more. For more than 10 years, Madeleine rose through the ranks of InMotion Hosting. As a System Engineer, Madeleine was asked to participate in the development of a new on-demand cloud platform that was built on Openstack.

InMotion Hosting decided to officially spin that platform out into its own product and organization, OpenMetal, in January of 2023. Faced with a new and exciting challenge, Madeleine once again rose to the occasion to take on a new role as Senior DevOps Engineer, where everyday she continues to work with customers to solve problems.
