A seasoned leader with a deep appreciation for open source and collaboration, Raymond Meyers is the driving force behind OpenMetal’s financial optimization. His journey began in the early days of computing, tinkering with a Timex Sinclair 1000 and immersing himself in the collaborative spirit of open-source UNIX. This early exposure nurtured a passion for technology’s potential to benefit society, a thread woven throughout his career. He is an avid supporter of open source, recognizing its power to drive innovation and progress. 

Seeking to leverage technology for good, Ray embarked on a path in finance. Initially drawn to the world of economics and monetary theory, he found his calling in the realm of FinOps. For him, FinOps is more than just cost control; it’s a collaborative dance between finance, engineering, and procurement, fostering transparency and optimizing cloud spend. This aligns perfectly with his long-held belief in collaboration and knowledge-sharing.

Ray’s dedication to using his talents for good shines through in his first job as a tour guide for inner-city youths, introducing them to the wonders of agriculture. This experience instilled in him a deep sense of social responsibility, shaping his approach to both technology and finance.
