FAQ

The questions we frequently get from teams looking for infrastructure in the region.

Ask us something else

How reliable is the LA facility?
LAX10 runs 2N UPS power redundancy with N+1 cooling, sits outside the 500-year flood plain, and carries a Seismic Zone 4 rating built into the structure. Digital Realty’s platform overall has maintained 99.999%+ uptime for 14 straight years.
Where exactly is my data?
In our Los Angeles facility — Digital Realty’s LAX10 data center in downtown LA. We don’t replicate or move customer data to other regions unless you build that architecture yourself.
How fast can I deploy?
In-stock bare metal provisions in minutes through self-service. Private clouds deploy in about a day. Out-of-stock configurations typically arrive within a few weeks.
Do I get access to the BIOS or other hardware-level access?
Yes, you get full access to your bare metal. IPMI (Intelligent Platform Management Interface) facilitates bare metal as a service with an easy to use remote management system.
Can I run confidential computing workloads in LAX?
XL v4 servers with Intel TDX are available in Los Angeles, protecting data in use at the hardware level, including confidential AI inference workloads via TDX combined with Intel AMX acceleration.
Do you offer GPUs in Los Angeles?
GPUs will be available shortly and can be reserved now. With a 12-month commitment, we’re happy to deploy more GPUs at this location with a lead time of ~8-10 weeks.
What compliance certifications does the facility hold?
The facility holds SOC 2 and SOC 3 attestations and meets PCI-DSS requirements, with SOC 2 controls mapped to NIST 800-53, HIPAA, and ISO 27001. These certifications are held by the facility operator, not automatically by OpenMetal’s services — reach out if you need specifics for your compliance program.
